Plant A Row For The Hungry, Northern Nevada
Plant a Row for the Hungry (PAR) is a neighbors-helping-neighbors program for home gardeners, originally launched in 1995 by the Garden Writers Association. The concept is simple. Gardeners are asked to do what we do best: grow and harvest nutritious and delicious vegetables, fruit and herbs to share with our neighbors – members of our community who find themselves facing difficult times. And now more than ever, with skyrocketing fuel and food costs, more and more people are turning to food relief organizations for help – making the call to action critical at this time.
